Litoria splendida
This superb frog is a large olive or green species sparsely are dramatically spotted with sulphur markings. Each of these sulphur markings may be edged with black. The hidden portions of the limbs and flanks range from bright yellow to brilliant orange. there is a large and protuberant skin gland upon the entire upper surface of the head. The fingers are broadly fringed and the toes are extensively webbed. the limbs are moderately long. Males up to 100mm and females to 106mm.
Advertisement call, a low, deep bark.
Breeding biology, the only field observations are those of Watson and Gerhardt. They observed pairs of amplexus on 18 January 1997. The frogs were situated around a rock pool and males were recorded calling on the rock face 1.5m and 2.0m above the water. In captivity up to 6400 eggs have been laid by an individual.
